Scholarships & Educator Grants

Funds for Students & Teachers

The Peninsula Community Foundation manages 23 scholarship and educator grant funds which provide opportunities for deserving students to pursue education beyond high school and teachers to bring innovation to their classrooms.

Scholarships can be established by individuals, families, organizations and companies. Any of these funds can be established in honor or memory of someone special. Donors may also define the eligibility guidelines for candidate selection or designate a specific field, study or college to be attended. Fund Agreements for scholarship awards are customized to each donor's wishes.

Targeted Support & Unique Paths

Susan Edward Kritzman Scholarship (College or technical school scholarships to single parents or to couples with children living in the home that are considered lower income.)
Julie M. Sager Memorial Scholarship (Any senior Tabb, York, Bruton, and Grafton High School students pursuing a career in the field of education)
James M. Stevens Memorial Scholarship (Educated Nominated - Any senior with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Hampton, Poquoson, or York County public schools)
Kenneth Leary Taylor Scholarship Fund (High school senior or college student from the Virginia Peninsula pursuing teaching science (excluding Computer Science) to middle or high school students.)

For K-12 Educators

Patricia Barresi Elementary Educational Teacher Grant (Elementary teachers at B.C. Charles, Hilton, Katherine G. Johnson and Stoney Run Elementary Schools in Newport News, VA)
Langley Teacher Grant (Hampton Roads, Richmond and Raleigh, North Carolina educators teaching elementary, middle, and high school students)
Kenneth Leary Taylor Teacher Grant (For teachers of science - excluding Computer Science - teaching students elementary-high school, on the Virginia Peninsula.)
