The Peninsula Community Foundation (PCF) exists to serve those who serve our neighbors. We don't stand on the frontline directly caring for others; we stand beside and behind the heroic nonprofits, generous individuals, caring families, and dedicated businesses who do serve on the front line of this community, day in and day out. We are their trusted partner, supporting their efforts and generosity, to do the greatest good.

We serve as a central hub, fostering relationships and identifying opportunities to solve complex challenges together.
We primarily serve six municipalities: Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, York County, James City County, and Williamsburg.
We partner with individuals, families, nonprofits, and businesses, and we help them partner with one another.
Capacity Building:
We empower local organizations to do more, and do it better, and we take on projects and programs for and with them that they cannot undertake alone.
One of the ways we do this is through our Center for Community Research, which helps us empower our region by ensuring decisions are data-driven and address the Peninsula's most pressing needs.
Financial Possibilities:
As a trusted steward of charitable assets, we offer flexible giving ideas for individuals, families, businesses and organizations to help them provide financial resources for the causes they care most about.

Powering Change with Data
Established in 2023 and building on our research work for more than a decade, PCF's Center for Community Research empowers the Virginia Peninsula through data-driven insights, analyzing critical social issues, assessing community needs and identifying opportunities for sustainable growth and development toward solutions - link to aging study landing page.
Since 2003, PCF has invested more than $41 million into our community through a wide range of funds, grants, and charitable gifts, impacting thousands of lives across the Virginia Peninsula and beyond. This support has tackled critical needs—from early childhood development and housing solutions to nonprofit training—helping to build a stronger, more vibrant, and resilient community for all.
Launched by PCF in 2014, Give Local 757 is the Hampton Roads region’s annual 24-hour online giving day that unites our community in support of hundreds of local nonprofits. More than just a fundraiser, this event amplifies nonprofit impact, boosts organizational capacity and sustainability, and has raised over $15 million to strengthen the 757 region.
